The new Trail Edition of the Volkswagen Taigun gets special decals for the doors, rear fenders, and the C pillars. The limited edition SUV also gets a functional roof bar. The 17-inch alloys have been completely blacked out and the brake callipers get a red finish. The special edition ‘Trail’ badging can be found on the tailgate of the SUV. There are three colour options on offer – Carbon Steel Grey, Deep Black Pearl, and Candy White.
The biggest on the interior of the Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is the seat upholstery. The automaker has gone for the all-black look on the seating with red stitching as the contrasting feature. The Trail Edition retains the features and instrumentation from the GT Trim of the Taigun. This means it gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, multi-function steering, an electric sunroof, a 6-speaker sound system, and more. The Taigun also gets connected car tech with a dedicated app that offers features like driving behaviour, live tracking, and more.
Volkswagen has also added a dashcam and a 2-inch LCD display to the special edition SUV. However, top-spec features like a fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, cruise control, sunroof, powered front seats, full LED headlamps, and others are missing from the Trail Edition.
In terms of powertrain, the Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is available only with the 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine option. This engine can generate a maximum power output of 150hp and 250Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine is not available on the Trail Edition.
