Nissan Gravite: Here’s what you can expect from the MPV

The Gravite is a rebadged version of the Renault Triber. However, there are several cosmetic tweaks that distinguish it from its Renault counterpart. Renault’s MPV follows the automaker’s ‘V Motion’ design language on its grille. Flanking this grille are sleek LED headlamps and DRLs. The bonnet has the ‘GRAVITE’ lettering on it. The front bumper is accentuated by silver highlights. The faux skid plate gives it a sporty look.

Along the sides, the Gravite is indistinguishable from the Triber. The only differences are the silver finish on the roof rails and a two-tone colour theme for the alloy wheels. At the back, the MPV flaunts sleek LED tail lamps. These tail lamps are not connected by a light bar. Similar to the bonnet, the tailgate receives the ‘GRAVITE’ lettering. The bumper has silver highlights. The Gravite and Triber are underpinned by the CMF-A+ platform. The two MPVs have identical dimensions.

Not much is known about the interior layout and instrumentation of the Nissan Gravite so far. It will likely borrow some of the design elements from its Renault counterpart. The MPV will seat 7 people. Its dashboard will rock an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Other features like second and third row AC vents, a cooled glovebox, a start/stop push button, and wireless charging are expected to make the cut.

Nissan Gravite: What to expect?

On the safety front, the Gravite will pack 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, cruise control, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, traction control, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child anchorages, and more. The Bharat NCAP safety rating of the MPV will be revealed in the weeks following its launch.

The Nissan Gravite will share its powertrain with the Triber. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. On the Triber, it generates a maximum power output of 72hp and 96Nm of torque. Buyers will be able to choose between a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox. It remains to be seen whether Nissan will offer a CNG option for its MPV upon launch.
