Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio spotted testing on roads of Europe

The Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio was spotted being tested in a heavy camouflage avatar. The source from where this image came from, claims that this is the new Vitara Brezza as the image was taken near Suzuki’s production facility near Budapest. But the test mule does now share any characteristics with Brezza rather, it’s looking similar to the test vehicle spotted in India not long ago and was claimed to be the new Mahindra Scorpio next-gen.

Mahindra & Mahindra introduced its new XUV 700 SUV in India recently and easily became a hit in the Indian market. The Indian company is planning to roll out many cars till 2026 in which Scorpio is one that is expected to be launched in mid-2022. It is not the first time that an Indian vehicle has been tested on international roads as we saw the same with some Tata cars as well.

We can anticipate the company releasing its new SUV in a 7 seater module. The car looked almost production-ready and will be available by the company soon. From the Images we can see a big grille, horizontal daytime running lights mounted on the bumper, wide air intake, thicker roof rails, tall A and B pillar, boot integrated spoiler holding the stop lamp and single hinge tailgate.

The design of the taillight has also got a revamp along with a shark fin antenna and rectangular mirrors. It can also be the second car by Mahindra to hold the new logo of the company. An interesting thing about this photograph is that the car has a Hazard Class 9 sticker on the rear glass. There is a possibility that the car also has a Lithium-ion battery pack and the is a mild hybrid version to boost acceleration and improve fuel economy.

The next-gen Scorpio is expected to share the same engine options with XUV 700 from which the first one is a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol unit and the other 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit. The SUV will be packed with the latest features like a touchscreen infotainment system with the support of Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The Scorpio can be offered in an AWD system paired with manual or Automatic transmission. The current price cannot be guessed but the SUV will be priced aggressively by the company.
