Kia Seltos
Kia is set to introduce the next-gen Seltos SUV in India later this year. The new Kia Seltos was first spotted testing in November 2024 in its home territory, South Korea. A month later, the SUV was spotted on Indian roads. The 2nd-gen Seltos was spotted again on a road test last week. This time, the test mule seemed to be closer to the production-spec model. It was draped in heavy camouflage, but its alloy wheels were left undisguised.

The 2nd-gen Kia Seltos will be underpinned by the same platform as the outgoing model. It will be dimensionally identical to its first-gen avatar. However, significant design changes are expected on the new SUV. The test mules reveal a boxier profile for the new model. Its bonnet is flatter, and the silhouette is more upright. It will follow the design language established by the Kia Carnival.
The new test mules gave a closer look at the alloy wheel design of the Kia Seltos. The new alloys have a symmetric pattern and don an all-black look. The SUV has a dual-tone colour theme, with contrasting roof rails. The pillars have been blacked out as well. The wheel arches have a thick body cladding. The LED headlamps, DRLs, and tail lamps have been reworked.
Inside, the 2nd-gen Kia Seltos will get a Trinity panoramic display. This is the same display that does duty on the new Kia Syros. It comprises a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 4-inch display for climate controls. The infotainment system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new Seltos is expected to get a Level 2 ADAS package with up to 17 safety features.
There will be no mechanical changes on the new-gen Kia Seltos. It will continue to offer 3 engine options – 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine puts out 160hp. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces a maximum power output of 116hp and 250Nm of torque. Kia may also add a hybrid powertrain down the line.

Prices for the current-gen Kia Seltos start at Rs 11.19 lakh and go up to Rs 20.56 lakh. The next-gen model will demand a small premium. We expect its prices to start at Rs 11.50 lakh. Upon launch, it will continue to rival the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Citroen C3 Aircross, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder in India.
