MG Motor India has hiked the prices of the Astor SUV by Rs 19,000. The MG Astor range now starts at Rs 11.48 lakh for the entry-level Sprint variant and goes up to Rs 17.63 lakh for the top-spec Savvy Pro trim. The mid-spec Shine MT variant gets the sharpest increase in prices, with a hike of Rs 19,000. Earlier this week, the automaker hiked the prices for the Comet and Windsor EVs as well.

Earlier this year, MG Motor discontinued the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine of the Astor. This engine produced a maximum power output of 140hp and 220Nm of torque. This engine came mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Currently, the SUV is available only with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 110hp and 144Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual or an 8-speed CVT gearbox.
Talking about the features, the MG Astor packs a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital driver’s display. The infotainment system is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features of the SUV include ventilated front seats, a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, a digital key, rear AC vents, auto-dimming IVRM, an air purifier, and wireless charging.
On the safety front, MG Astor boasts 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill hold assist, descent control, and traction control. On top of that, the SUV rocks a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), rain-sensing wipers, disc brakes on all four wheels, Electronic Parking Brake with autohold, and ISOFIX anchorages. There’s also an ADAS package on board.

The MG Astor is also available in a special Blackstorm Edition, priced at Rs 15.77 lakh. The SUV rivals Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, and Citroen C3 Aircross. in India.
