Citroen C3 Aircross to come in a single trim option

Citroen India recently revealed the fuel economy numbers for its upcoming midsize SUV, Citroen C3 Aircross. The automaker has now revealed that the SUV will be available in a single trim. The ‘Max’ trim of the SUV will be loaded with all the high-end features. Upon launch, the C3 Aircross will only get a manual transmission, while the option for an automatic transmission will be added later.

Citroen C3 Aircross: Here are the features that the SUV has to offer

Talking about the powertrain first, the Citroen C3 Aircross shares its engine with the C3 hatchback. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 110hp and 190Nm of torque on the hatchback. No other powertrain options have been made available for the SUV. The C3 Aircross offers a mileage of 18.5kmpl. Citroen may also launch an all-electric version of this SUV down the line.

Citroen C3 Aircross is underpinned by the same CMP modular platform as the C3 hatchback. It stands at dimensions of 4,323mm x 1,796mm x 1,669mm with a wheelbase of 2,671mm. The SUV will come in five and seven-seat configurations. The 5-seater C3 Aircross offers a boot space capacity of 511 litres.

Talking about features, since the Citroen C3 Aircross is available in a single trim, it will be decked with all the high-end specs to make it competitive in the midsize SUV segment. The C3 Aircross will get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, roof-mounted AC vents, keyless entry, and more. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, TPMS, Hill hold assist, and more.

Even though Citroen has added tons of features to the lone C3 Aircross trim, it still misses out on features like an electric sunroof, wireless charging, and automatic climate control. With such misses, it will be interesting to see how the automaker prices its debut midsize SUV in India. Upon launch, Citroen C3 Aircross will rival Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
