Maruti Suzuki XL6 has received a key safety upgrade. The MPV now offers 6 airbags as a standard feature. Maruti is currently in the midst of a safety overhaul. The automaker plans on making 6 airbags a standard feature across all its offerings by the end of the year. Last week, it updated the Baleno hatchback with this feature. Earlier this week, the Ertiga MPV got the same treatment along with a few cosmetic and feature upgrades. Fronx, S Presso, and Ignis are the only Maruti offerings yet to get this upgrade.

Maruti Suzuki XL6: What’s new?
Maruti Suzuki has not revealed the price list for the upgraded variants of the XL6 yet. However, the automaker has revealed that the MPV will receive a 0.8% price hike. Depending on the variant, the new XL6 model could demand a premium between Rs 9,500 to Rs 12,000.
The standard safety equipment on the Maruti Suzuki XL6 now includes 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), 3-point seatbelts and reminders for all passengers, and brake assist. Premium safety features like Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and a 360-degree camera are reserved for the top-spec variant.
There are no cosmetic or feature upgrades on the new Maruti Suzuki XL6. The MPV offers creature comforts like 2nd-row captain seats, a roof-mounted AC system with rear vents, automatic climate control, ambient cabin lights, a front door courtesy lamp, and more. The third row seats can be folded to accommodate extra luggage. In terms of instrumentation, the XL6 packs a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system and a Multi-Instrument Display. The infotainment system supports voice controls. The Suzuki Connect app allows the user to remotely control certain features of the car.
No mechanical changes have been made to the Maruti Suzuki XL6. The MPV continues to be powered by the 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 103hp and 137Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. In a CNG guise, this engine produces a maximum power output of 88hp and 121Nm of torque. The CNG powertrain is available on the entry-level Zeta variant with a manual gearbox.

Final Thoughts
Prices for the Maruti Suzuki XL6 start at Rs 11.83 lakh and go up to Rs 15 lakh. These prices will be hiked soon. The XL6 is also due for a facelift. It rivals Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo, and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
