Maruti Suzuki Invicto launched in India at Rs 24.79 lakh

Maruti Suzuki Invicto has finally been launched at a starting price of Rs 24.79 lakh, making it the most expensive Maruti offering in India. The MPV has been made available in two trims and two seating options. The top-spec 7-seater Alpha+ trim has been priced at Rs 28.42 lakh. The Invicto is based on Toyota Innova HyCross which was launched in December last year.

Currently, there is no 8-seat option for the top-spec Alpha+ trim.

Since it is essentially a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova HyCross, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto shares several design components from its Toyota sibling. There are some changes to the cosmetics that give Invicto its unique identity. Up front, the Maruti MPV gets a different mesh design for the grille along with two chrome bars running horizontally across it, connecting the LED headlamps and DRLs. Invicto’s headlamps get the three-dot design which is also found on the Grand Vitara and Baleno.

Along the sides, Maruti Suzuki Invicto gets a new design for the 17-inch alloy wheels. Apart from that, it looks similar to the Innova HyCross. At the back, the tail lamps also get the three-dot design treatment. Apart from these changes, the two MPVs look very much alike. Maruti Suzuki Invicto stands at dimensions of 4,755mm x 1,850mm x 1,795mm – the same as the HyCross. Both MPVs also share the same wheelbase size, 2,850mm.

Inside, the Maruti Suzuki Inivcto gets all-black interiors with gold accents. This is in contrast to the dual-tone black and brown interior on the HyCross. Colour scheme aside, the interior layout of the MPVs is largely the same. The Invicto offers a maximum boot space of 690 litres (with the third row folded down). 

The Invicto also gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a powered driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera, and more. It also gets safety features like six airbags, an electronic parking brake, hill start assist, ABS, and more.

As we reported earlier, Maruti Suzuki Invicto is offered in a single strong hybrid engine configuration. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor can produce a total power output of 184hp. There are no manual transmission options on offer, the Invicto is only available with an e-CVT gearbox. The MPV offers a mileage of 23.24 kmpl.

Conclusion

While the Invicto may be the most expensive Maruti offering in India, it is also pricier than the HyCross, which was launched at a starting price of Rs 18.30 lakh. Maruti Suzuki Invicto rivals Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, Mahindra Scorpio N, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Toyota Innova HyCross.
