Maruti Suzuki Ertiga updated with 6 airbags

Maruti Suzuki is currently on a drive to equip all of its cars with 6 airbags as a standard feature. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the latest offering from the automaker to offer this safety feature across all its variants. Last week, the Baleno hatchback was upgraded with this feature. In May, Maruti brought the Alto K10, Celerio, Wagon R, and Eeco up to the new safety standard.

2025 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga: What’s new?

Following the addition of 6 airbags as a standard feature, the prices for all the variants of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga have been hiked by Rs 14,500. Here is the updated price list.

Cosmetic changes on the 2025 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga are limited to a new roof spoiler. Inside, the AC vents mounted on the roof have been moved behind the front passenger seat’s armrest. Two air vents have also been added for the third seating row. Additionally, four new Type-C charging ports have been added for the passengers at the front and the back. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system remains unchanged and continues to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Apart from 6 airbags, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga gets safety features like remote locking, rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminders, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Assist Control, and more.

Things remain unchanged under the hood of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The 1.5-litre petrol engine on the MPV generates a maximum power output of 103hp and 137Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. In a CNG configuration, this engine produces a maximum power output of 92hp and 122Nm of torque. The Eritga CNG is only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Petrol variants of the MPV have a mileage of 20.51 km/l while the CNG variant bumps up the fuel efficiency to 26.11 km/kg.

Final Thoughts

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was the highest-selling MPV in India and Maruti’s bestselling car in 2024. In February 2024, it crossed the 1 million sales landmark. The CNG variants of the Ertiga are responsible for up to 50% of Maruti’s CNG sales. It rivals the likes of the  Renault TriberMahindra MarazzoMaruti Suzuki XL6Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta.
