The Maruti Suzuki Eeco MPV has been updated with 6 airbags as a standard feature across all variants. Previously, the MPV offered only 2 airbags as a standard safety feature. Other Maruti offerings like the Alto K10, Wagon R, Brezza, and Celerio were also updated with 6 airbags recently. The Eeco is now priced at Rs 5.69 lakh, which makes it Rs 25,500 dearer than the previous version. Maruti has also dropped the 7-seat layout for the van.

Apart from 6 airbags, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco offers safety features like three-point seatbelts for all passengers, front seatbelt pretensioners and force limiters, seatbelt reminder for front seats, anti-lock brakes, an electronic stability program, electronic brakeforce distribution, and more.
The interior of the Maruti Suzuki Eeco has also been changed. Maruti has ditched the 7-seat layout for the van entirely, replacing it with 2 new 6-seat variants. These variants have 2 captain seats in the middle row. No changes have been made to the 5-seat variants. The van now features fabric upholstery (instead of PVC) and outboard reclining front seats. The boot of the 5-seat variants sports luggage retention. This limits the movement of the luggage in case of a collision.
Maruti Suzuki Eeco continues to be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine. It produces a maximum power output of 80hp. This engine is now E20-compliant. This means it can run on E20 fuel, which is a 20% ethanol and 80% petrol blend. The CNG variant of the van churns out 70hp. It offers a fuel efficiency of 27.05km/kg and is only available in a 5-seat layout. Meanwhile, the petrol engine offers a mileage of 20.20km/l.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco celebrated its 15th anniversary in India this year. It has sold over 1.2 million units in the country. While there are no true rivals to the Eeco, it faces some competition from Renault Triber in its price segment.
