Maruti Suzuki has started the export of its compact SUV, Fronx, from India. The first batch of 556 units of the SUV was shipped from Mundra, Mumbai and Pipavav Ports to destinations in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. The compact SUV was launched in India earlier this year at a starting price of Rs 7.47 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: 556 units shipped
Showcased at Auto Expo 2023 in January, the Fronx was released in April at a starting price of Rs 7.47 lakh. The top-spec Alpha DT variant of the Fronx fetches Rs 13.14 lakh. Like the Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki also ships the compact SUV to global markets. Being a compact SUV, the Fronx stands at dimensions of 3,995mm x 1,550mm x 1.765mm.

The customers of Fronx in India can feel good that their much-loved vehicle will also become the choice of customers globally.”
The compact SUV is available in two powertrain options. Baleno’s discontinued Boosterjet engine makes a return on the Fronx. This 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine can produce a maximum power output of 100hp and 147Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Also on offer is the 1.2-litre K Series naturally aspirated petrol engine that can produce a maximum power output of 90hp and 113Nm peak torque. This engine can also be mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

In India Maruti Suzuki Fronx is available in seven colour options – Arctic White, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Bluish Black, Celestial Blue, and Grandeur Grey. Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver also come in dual-tone colour options. The compact SUV rivals Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
