Mahindra XUV700 has achieved the 2 lakh sales milestone within 33 months of launch. To celebrate the occasion, Mahindra has announced 2 new colour variants for the SUV – Deep Forest and Burnt Sienna. Recently, Mahindra’s lifestyle SUV Thar was also made available in a Deep Forest paint scheme. The Sienna colour option is exclusive to the XUV700.

Mahindra XUV700: A success story

Mahindra sold the first 1 lakh units of the XUV700 within the first 21 months of its launch. It took the automaker just 12 more months to sell the next 1 lakh units. The SUV faced production setbacks at the time of launch, leading to extended waiting periods. In the last year, Mahindra has resolved the production issues and cut down the waiting period faced by the buyers.

Prices for Mahindra XUV700, Thar, and Scorpio N hiked by up to Rs 57,000

Mahindra XUV700 is available in seven variants and two powertrain options. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 200hp and 380Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine is available in two tune levels. In entry-level variants, it generates a maximum power output of 155hp and 360Nm of torque. Whereas, in top-spec variants, this turbo diesel engine produces a maximum power output of 185hp and 420Nm. Paired with an automatic transmission, the torque output jumps to 450Nm. Both engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

XUV700-interiors

The SUV is decked with premium features like a twin 12.5-inch touchscreen setup for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, a Sony 3D surround sound system, an electronic parking brake, a blind spot monitor, and an ADAS package.

Conclusion

Prices for the Mahindra XUV700 start at Rs 13.99 lakh and go up to Rs 26.99 lakh for the top-spec variant. It rivals the likes of Tata Safari, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, MG Hector and Hector Plus, and Kia Seltos.
