Mahindra Thar Roxx: Here’s everything you need to know

The 5-door Mahindra Thar Roxx is available in six trim levels – MX1, MX3, AX3 L, MX5, AX5 L, and AX7 L. The 4WD variants are available in MX5, AX5 L, and AX7 L trims. Only the diesel powertrain is available in a 4WD configuration. Mahindra has prioritised the production of the variants that it expects to be the most popular among the Indian audience.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx features an updated design. Up front, it gets a new six-slot grille which seems to be inspired by Jeep’s SUVs. The circular LED headlamps are placed on either side of the grille and are integrated with C-shaped DRLs. The fog lamp housings are placed on the bumper. The two additional rear doors are accompanied by quarter glass windows on the 5-door Thar. The rear door handles are positioned vertically.

Inside, the Mahindra Thar Roxx gets a dual-screen display. There are two 10.25-inch displays for the touchscreen infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. Other features include ambient lighting, wireless charging, automatic climate control, a cooled glove box, a front armrest, a panoramic sunroof, a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seating, a 9-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, and more. The top-spec variants are equipped with an ADAS package.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is available with two powertrains. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 174hp and 380Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 2.2-litre diesel engine puts out 172hp and 370Nm. These engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
