Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N have crossed the 10 lakh sales landmark in India. The Scorpio Classic is one of the bestselling SUVs of all time in the country. The Scorpio N range was added to the SUV’s lineup in 2022 and found success immediately. Last year, Mahindra crossed the 9 lakh production landmark for the two SUVs.

Mahindra Scorpio: An all-timer success story
The Mahindra Scorpio N reached the 1 lakh sales landmark in February 2024. Since then, Mahindra has sold an estimated 27,000 units of the SUV. The remaining units in the 10 lakh sales figure belong to the Mahindra Scorpio Classic. After hitting the 9 lakh production landmark in June 2023, the two SUVs have garnered combined sales of 1,42,403 units. This takes the total sales numbers to 10,42,403 units.
Powering the Mahindra Scorpio Classic is the all-aluminium lightweight GEN-2 mHawk engine that produces a maximum power of 130hp and 300Nm torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. It is 55 kilos lighter and 14% more fuel efficient than the one found in the previous Scorpio.
Mahindra Scorpio N is available in two powertrain options – a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2L diesel engine. The petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 167hp while the diesel engine puts out 152hp. The SUV features intelligent 4Xplore terrain management technology, offering 4 modes – Tarmac, Snow, Mud and Desert, with the touch of a button.
Commenting on the sales pattern for the month of June, Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said, “We sold a total of 40022 SUVs in June, a growth of 23% and 69397 total vehicles, an 11% growth over last year. June has been a momentous month, as we rolled out the 200,000th XUV700 from our facility. We also celebrated 25 years of Bolero Pik-Ups, a category creator and a market leader in the LCV segment.”

Conclusion
Last week, the Mahindra XUV700 also crossed the 2 lakh sales landmark. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic is priced between Rs 13.62 lakh – Rs 17.42 lakh. Meanwhile, prices for the Scorpio N start at Rs 13.85 lakh and go up to Rs 24.54 lakh. The two SUVs rival the likes of Tata Safari, MG Hector, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos.
