Kia new 7 seaters SUV spotted testing in India.

Kia recently entered the Indian market and has been breaking records with its first launch Seltos. After a few months, the company launched its mini SUV Sonet which too has good sales figures. And now the company is planning to expand its line up with a 7 seater full-fledged SUV. The code name given for this car is Kia KY and it has been spotted testing again on Indian roads.

Following the motor trend of Hyundai by bringing Alcazar its 7 seater SUV which was based on its own Creta’s platform. We can see by the leaks that the SUV will share the same raked A-pillars, window line and front doors with the Seltos. However, the biggest change can be spotted in the side and rear profile. Kia has not only made the car longer for 7 seater capacity but also increased the roof size for an ample amount of headroom for passengers in all seats.

The SUV seems to receive the same front profile just like its sibling Seltos. We can expect the same grill mesh, LED daytime running DRLs, LED fog lamps and LED headlights. The prominent change can be spotted in the newly styled tailgate along with bigger alloy wheels. The car is expected to get a sunroof rather than a panoramic one found in the Alcazar.

We can anticipate the Engine of the new Kia KY will be shared with Hyundai Alcazar. There will be 2 engine options available. The first one is a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel that produces 115PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The other, a more powerful variant is 2.0-litre petrol churning out 159PS and 191 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic will likely be used for transmission.

The interior will be shared with Seltos and features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support will be included. Adding to them will be a digital instrument console, UVO connected car tech, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, ESC and hill start assist. For the higher trim, we can expect ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with features like blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and more.

The price of the new offering and other details are not known but we can look forward to it being priced close to Alcazar which starts from 16.3 lakhs ex-showroom, India and goes all the way up to 20.14 lakhs ex-showroom, India.
