Kia Carens X-Line launched in India at Rs 18.94 lakh

The Kia Carens lineup has been refreshed with a new X-Line variant. Prices for the Kia Carens X-Line start at Rs 18.94 lakh. It is available in turbo-petrol and diesel powertrain options. Cosmetically, the X-Line MPV gets a new paint shade and interior theme. The Carens X-Line is a top-spec variant in the MPVs lineup.

Kia Carens X-Line: Everything you need to know

Kia Carens X-Line MPV gets a chrome finish for the radiator grille garnish and window trims. The front grille, bumpers, and roof rails, are finished in glossy piano black. The front brake callipers also get a silver finish. The MPV gets a new Matte Graphite paint shade for its exteriors. This shade is only available for the X-Line variant. The MPV also receives special X-Line badging on the tailgate. It rests on 16-inch dual-tone crystal-cut alloy wheels.

Inside, the Kia Carens X-Line gets a new dual-tone Splendid Sage Black Green and Black colour theme. The X-Line variant is only available in a 6-seat configuration, with solo captain seats for the middle row. The biggest upgrade comes in the form of a 10.1-inch infotainment unit behind the front passenger headrest. This rear-seat entertainment system will make the X-Line variant of the Carens popular among the audience. This entertainment system has a smartphone remote app and can mirror the display of any mobile device.

Things remain the same under the hood as the Kia Carens X-Line is made available in two powertrain options – a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The former produces a maximum power output of 160hp and 253Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The diesel engine generates a maximum power output of 114hp and is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Conclusion

Prices for the Kia Carens MPV start at Rs 18.94 lakh for the turbo petrol variant while the diesel variant fetches Rs 19.44 lakh. The MPV rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6, Toyota Innova Crysta, Toyota Rumion, and Mahindra Marazzo in India.
