The teaser videos for Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts confirm a split front headlamp setup that looks similar to the one on the recently launched Nexon facelift. Like the new Nexon, the front headlamps with be connected by LED DRLs running across the top of the grille. The two SUVs may feature different grille designs. The Safari is expected to get premium treatment on its front grille. The two SUVs will also get a new set of alloy wheels. While the tail lamp design remains the same, they will now be connected by a light strip running across the tailgate.
Inside, the two SUVs will get a major revamp. The design language inside the cabins resembles Tata’s Curvv and Sierra EV concepts. Some features like the flat-bottom steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo and HVAC controls have already made their debut on the Nexon facelift. It remains to be seen whether Tata will carry forward the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster from the Nexon facelift as well.
Things remain the same under the hood as the 2023 Tata Safari and Harrier continue to be powered by the 2.0-litre diesel engine from the outgoing models. This diesel engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 168hp and 350Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

While there has been no talk of a petrol engine for the Safari and Harrier facelifts so far, Tata may add a 168hp & 280Nm producing 1.5-litre petrol engine to the two SUVs somewhere down the line. The 2023 Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts will rival the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus.
