Jeep India has rolled out a special edition model for the Compass SUV. The ‘Track Edition’ is based on the top-spec Model S variant of the Jeep Compass. Its prices start at Rs 26.78 lakh and go up to Rs 30.58 lakh. The special edition model gets cosmetic upgrades inside and out. Its feature list and powertrain remain unchanged.

When it comes to cosmetic upgrades along the exterior, the Track Edition gets piano black detailing on the grille, badges, and moldings. The hood gets a new signature decal. The 18-inch diamond-cut, ‘Tech Grey’ alloy wheels get contrasting ‘Spruce Beige’ highlights. On top of that, the SUV received exclusive ‘Track Edition’ badging.

Inside, the special edition SUV rocks all-new ‘Tupelo’ leatherette seats. The dashboard features ‘Dark Espresso’ smoke chrome finishes along with contrasting ‘Spruce Beige’ stitching. The ‘Tupelo’ vinyl accents are embossed with Jeep branding. The steering wheel is wrapped in ‘Cortina’ leather. There are Track Edition floor mats on offer as well.

The Track Edition model does not get any feature upgrades. Since it is based on the top-spec Model S variant, it is already packed with premium features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, an integrated voice command system, an Alpine sound system, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 8-way electronically adjustable ventilated leather seats with memory function, and more. On the safety front, the SUV rocks over 50 features, including four-channel ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, Advanced Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, all-speed traction control, rear seat reminder alert, and Rain Brake Assist.

Things remain the same under the hood of the SUV as well. The Track Edition continues to be powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine as the rest of the lineup. This engine generates a maximum power output of 170hp and 350Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. There are RWD and AWD configurations on offer.

Final Thoughts

Bookings for the Track Edition are now open at all Jeep dealerships across India. Prices for its standard model start at Rs 17.73 lakh and go up to Rs 30.25 lakh. It rivals the likes of Citroen C5, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Hyundai Tucson in India.
