The new Hyundai Creta facelift is set to make its debut on January 16. Ahead of the showcase, Hyundai has revealed the exterior design of the SUV. The automaker opened bookings for the Creta earlier this month. The facelifted model gets some cosmetic tweaks as well as some feature upgrades. Additionally, it will get one more powertrain than the outgoing model. Hyundai will start rolling out deliveries for the Creta facelift by the end of January.

The exterior design of the new Hyundai Creta facelift is more in line with the automaker’s international SUV models. Up front, the Creta gets an upright nose and a wider grille. This grille gets chrome, aluminium, and piano black highlights. The fragmented horizontal slats bring a more menacing look to the SUV. Flanking the grille on either end are L-shaped LED DRLs connected by a light bar.

The LED tail lamps are connected by a light bar as well. The design of the tail lamps matches the DRLs up front. The bumper and tailgate get styling tweaks as well. The SUV will retain its profile from the outgoing model. The only change along the sides is a new design for the alloy wheels. These alloys will be available in 17 and 18-inch sizes, depending on the variant.

Inside, the Hyundai Creta facelift gets dual 10.25-inch display units for the touchscreen infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The dashboard design is expected to get some changes as well. More details about the interior will be revealed by the end of the week. Hyundai will also offer new upholstery options on the Creta facelift. The biggest feature addition to the facelifted model is a Level 2 ADAS package that contains over 19 functions. Among other features, the SUV gets a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, and more.

2023 Hyundai Creta facelift: What to expect?

Things remain the same under the hood as the Hyundai Creta facelift continues to be powered by the 115hp producing 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engines. It also gets a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 160hp. This engine replaces the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that was discontinued on the existing Creta. All three engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT.

Bookings for the Hyundai Creta facelift are currently open for a token amount of Rs 25,000. It will be made available in 7 variants – E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, and SX(O). Colour options for the SUV include Robust Emerald Pearl (New), Fiery Red, Ranger Khaki, Abyss Black, Atlas White, Titan Grey, and Atlas White with Black Roof (dual-tone). Upon launch, the midsize SUV will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
