The 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 82hp and 115Nm of torque. The Aircross shares this engine with the C3 hatchback. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is not available in automatic transmission.

Citroen has also updated the top-spec variants of the Aircross SUV with much-needed LED headlamps. These variants have also been equipped with automatic climate control, which was already a common feature in other midsize SUVs. Furthermore, the power window buttons for the rear passengers have been moved from the centre console to the rear door pads. An AC vent has been added for the rear seating row as well.
