Skoda Kylaq: The next big thing in the compact SUV segment
Skoda Kylaq is available in 4 variants – Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige. The entry-level Classic variant costs Rs 7.89 lakh while the top-spec variant fetches Rs 14.40 lakh. The two mid-spec Signature variants are priced at Rs 9.59 lakh and Rs 11.40 lakh respectively.
Powering the Skoda Kylaq is a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 178Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The automatic gearbox is not available on the entry-level Classic variant. The SUV can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 10.5 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 188kmph.
Skoda Kylaq stands at dimensions of 3,995mm x 1,783mm x 1,619mm and has a 2,566mm wheelbase. It follows Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language. Up front, it gets a shiny black grille with 3D ribs, replacing the signature radiator grille found on other Skoda SUVs. Flanking the new grille on either side are split LED headlamps and sleek LED DRLs. At the back, the LED tail lamps are connected by a black trim with Skoda branding.
Inside, the Skoda Kylaq features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system runs a new OS designed by Skoda. Buyers can choose between single-tone and dual-tone colour themes for the interior. The SUV boasts features like six-way electric seats with ventilation, cruise control, steering-mounted paddle shifters, electric sunroof, and more. The Kylaq was recently awarded a 5-star rating by the Bharat NCAP.
