Mahindra Auto opened the booking window for the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV9e today. The automaker revealed that it has registered a combined 30,179 bookings on the first day itself. This takes the booking value to Rs 8,742 crore. The XEV 9e garnered 56% of the bookings, slightly edging out the Mahindra BE 6.Â

The 59kWh battery variants of the Mahindra BE 6 produce a maximum power output of 231hp. The 79kWh variants put out 286hp. Both battery variants generate 380Nm of torque. All variants have a RWD configuration. The 59kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 556km while the 79kWh can power the EV for 682km on a full charge.
The Mahindra XEV 9e shares its powertrain with the BE 6, but offers a slightly lower driving range due to its heavier mass. Its 59kWh battery variants can go up to 542km on a full charge. Meanwhile, the 79kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 656km.

Mahindra BE 6 is available in the following colour options – Everest White, Everest White – Satin, Deep Forest, Tango Red, Desert Myst, Desert Myst – Satin, Firestorm Orange, and Stealth Black. Meanwhile, the XEV 9e gets the following paint shades – Everest White, Deep Forest, Tango Red, Nebula Blue, Desert Myst, Ruby Velvet, and Stealth Black.Â

Final Thoughts
Following the bookings received today, the XEV 9e has broken MG Windsor EV’s record of the most Day 1 bookings. The SUV garnered over 16,900 bookings while 13,279 customers reserved the Mahindra BE 6. The 7.2kW AC charger costs an additional Rs 50,000 while the 11.2kW AC charger fetches Rs 75,000. The Mahindra BE 6 rivals the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser EV. The XEV 9e will rival the Tata Harrier EV when it launches in India.
