Hyundai has confirmed that the Exter will get a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine also does duty on other Hyundai offerings like Grand i10 Nios, Aura, i20, and Venue. It is capable of producing a maximum power output of 83hp and 114Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. Hyundai will also launch a CNG variant of the Exter alongside the petrol offering.

Hyundai has also confirmed that the Exter will be made available in five trims – EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect. As the name implies, the top-spec trim will come with connected car tech.
