2025 MG ZS Hybrid+ revealed globally

MG Motor has unveiled the new MG ZS Hybrid+ SUV globally. MG ZS is currently available in EV and ICE powertrains. Its ICE version goes by MG Astor. The Hybrid version of the SUV will add a third powertrain option for the buyers. Since it is an updated model, MG ZS Hybrid+ also carries cosmetic and feature upgrades. MG Motor will bring the hybrid version of the ZS/Astor to India next year.

MG ZS Hybrid+: What’s on offer?

The MG ZS Hybrid+ remains true to the design language established by the ZS EV and Astor SUVs but carries a few notable cosmetic upgrades. Its grille is larger than the existing model. On either side of the grille lie the LED headlamps and DRLs. The design of the air intakes on the front bumper has been tweaked slightly. Along the sides, the ZS Hybrid looks identical to its EV and ICE counterparts. At the back, it receives new LED tail lamps, and a redesigned bumper and tailgate.

Inside, the MG ZS Hybrid+ gets a 12.3-inch infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The design of the steering wheel has been tweaked as well. The wireless charging pads are now aligned vertically and the position of the air vents has been slightly changed. Other features on the SUV include automatic climate control, keyless entry, automatic headlamps, a six-way adjustable driver’s seat, rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 360-degree camera. There are three drive modes on the SUV – Eco, Sport, and Normal.

Under the hood, the MG ZS Hybrid+ will be powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 101hp and 250Nm of torque. Since this is a hybrid SUV, this engine is linked to a 100kW electric motor. This electric motor churns out 134hp by itself. The combined output on the ZS Hybrid+ is 192hp and 465Nm. There is a 1.83kWh battery pack onboard as well.

Conclusion

It is likely that MG ZS Hybrid+ will be brought to India. The automaker will also update the design and features of the ZS EV and Astor SUVs. The ZS Hybrid+ will be priced aggressively to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder. Its Indian variant may miss out on ADAS and heated seating. Currently, MG Motor is planning to launch the Windsor EV in India on September 11.
