2022 Maruti Alto next-gen spied testing on Indian roads

Maruti Suzuki Alto is one of the most selling cars in India and now the company is getting ready to release the 2022 Maruti Alto in the market. It’s been almost 2 years that the company has not released any new car in the market and now the company is all set up revamping s new cars. The start of the process will be from the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Celerio which is planned to launch next month. The comp[any is also planning to launch its next-gen S-cross in the market as well.

Now with the leaked images of its new small hatchback, we can surely anticipate that this new car will be the next-gen Alto 800 as the design and looks seem a little similar. With taking their cars to the next generation the company is also planning to launch a few new cars with their associate, Toyota.

The car was spotted by an Indian YouTube channel named Wanderlust Shashank. The same car was spied earlier as well but at that time the camouflage was thick and no parts of the car were visible. But with the current spy photos, we can see and anticipate a few of the exterior that the car will have. From the first look, we can see that the car is now a little bigger and bolder than the previous gen. The car will hold Suzuki’s new famed Heartect platform on which they have built their recent revamps like Dzire and WagonR.

The demand for the USVs have been taking a spike in Indian markets and looking forward to this car manufacturing companies have started to make their car wider and bolder, the same case can be seen with the 2022 next-gen Alto. The front design and tail are taken from the previous-gen but there is an increase in the size of the bumper and front grille. In the camouflage, we can also spot the C shaped fog lamps which look modern and future-ready. These fog lamps could also double up as daytime running LED DRLs.

In the Interior aspects, we can tell that there will be a lot of change, the cabin will be wider and have more legroom. It will also get a revamp with a new touch screen infotainment system capable of running Android Auto and Apple Carplay. While features like auto climate control, push to start/stop and wireless charger can be added for top trims. For safety, the company will provide 2 airbags and ABS as standard.

The next generation Alto will sport the same 800cc engine which is used in the current generation. There is also a possibility that it will share the same 1.0-litre K10C engine from the upcoming new Celerio. IF the company did so it will be very hard to choose from Celerio and Alto. Transmission duties will be done by either manual or AMT. Looking at the demand and rise in fuel prices the company will avail the car with factory fitted CNG kit. The car will continue to price aggressively and will be launched in the Indian market next year.
