The Jeep brand has finally launched its much-awaited 2022 Jeep Meridian SUV in the country. The Jeep Meridian three-row SUV had been introduced earlier this year alongside the Jeep Grand Cherokee to the Indian markets. Both the brand-new premium SUV models are going to be domestically produced. Post its official launch, the all-new 2022 Jeep Meridian will be seen giving competition to the market leaders in the segment, Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.

The Jeep Meridian SUV is said to be the India-spec version of the Jeep Commander, which was launched in South America recently. However, it comes with slight tweaks in its design, which differentiate its body language from that of the Commander SUV. The Jeep Meridian exteriors feature a traditional 7-slot grille flanked by slim headlights at the front and a chrome bar between the taillights on its tailgate. Bringing out its bold personality are large air dams and a solid chrome bar dividing the bumper at the front. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.
The all-new SUV is 36.4cm longer, 4.1cm wider and 4.2cm taller than Jeep Compass, with the wheelbase longer by 15.8cm, thus making the model bigger. Speaking of its interiors, the all-new 2022 Jeep Meridian features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 10.25-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera, dual-zone climatic control, 6 airbags, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, amongst others.

Coming to its mechanical specs, the 2022 Jeep Meridian is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder multijet diesel engine. It delivers about 170hp power and 350Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic transmission option. The former comes with a front-wheel-drive layout while the latter is offered in both FWD and AWD.
The 2022 Jeep Meridian price in India starts from Rs 29.9 lakhs (ex-showroom).
