2022 Yamaha Nmax 155 launched globally

The newly updated 2022 Yamaha Nmax 155 has got a major update this time and the scooter looks more inspired than the recently updated R15 V4. The maxi styled scooter relates to Aerox 155 which was launched in the Indian market recently. Both Nmax and Aerox are powered by the same company’s entry-level engine that powers the YZF-R15 V4. Nmax is the third scooter in this fleet with subtle changes inside out to make the scooter more appealing to the young crowd and buyers.

When the Japanese automaker launched its scooter in the European market, we can instantly see the tweaked look of the bike with new LED headlamps, a lower-placed handlebar, and subtle exterior body updates. The repositioned handlebar makes the turning of the scooter even easier. Ergonomics have been tweaked minorly as well.

As the modern maxi-scooter is ideal for long tours the company increased the fuel tank capacity to 7.1-litres. Thanks to it, now the Nmax can do 300km(claimed by the company) in a full tank. The powertrain used continues to share the engine from its geared sports bike sibling R15. Which is a 155cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. The same is detuned and now the power figures stand at 15.1PS at 8,000rpm and 14Nm at 6500rpm. The engine is also paired with the company’s own variable valve actuation (VVA) setup.

The 2022 Yamaha Nmax also gets some modern features like Bluetooth connectivity with which the riders can pair their smartphone directly to the scooter to receive call and SMS notifications. With the help of Yamaha’s smartphone application users can also access information such as navigation, trip details, and maintenance service schedules. The company also introduced a 12V charging socket for riders’ convenience.

Nmax 155 goes on sale in Europe with a price tag of EUR 3,499 that roughly converts to Rs 2.69 lakh ex-showroom, India. But launch for the Indian roads is unlikely to see anytime soon. However, if you still want to experience a powerful maxi styled scooter experience you can go with the Aerox 155 available at Rs 1.29 lakh ex-showroom, India
