Renault Kwid facelift: Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming hatchback

The Renault Kwid facelift will take design inspiration from the Dacia Spring, which is sold in Europe. While the new model will retain the halogen headlamps from the current version of the hatchback, it will get a new set of Y-shaped LED DRLs. The bumper and grille are expected to get a few tweaks.

Along the sides, the facelift model will get squared-off wheel arches and thick body cladding. The alloy wheels will get a new design. At the back, the tail lamps will follow the Y-shaped design language of the DRLs. Additionally, the rear bumper will be reworked.

We expect significant changes inside the Renault Kwid facelift. The dashboard will sport a new look, and the steering wheel will get a new design. The hatchback will pack a 10-inch free-standing infotainment system, which will be larger than the one on the current model. Joining this display will be a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. There will be wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity on board. The layout of the cabin will be inspired by the Dacia Spring, too. On the safety front, the 2026 Kwid will get 6 airbags and a host of other standard features.

No changes are expected under the hood of the Renault Kwid facelift. It will continue to be powered by the same 1.0-litre petrol engine that does duty on the current model. This engine generates a maximum power output of 68hp and 92.5Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The hatchback is not available with a factory-fitted CNG kit, but buyers can get a retrofit installed at the dealership level.

It gets yellow accents on the grille and yellow decals on the doors and the C-pillar. Inside, it gets yellow accents on the steering wheel, seats, door panels, and around the touchscreen infotainment system. In terms of feature additions, the special edition gets puddle lamps and illuminated scuff plates.

Final Thoughts

The current Kwid lineup starts at Rs 4.30 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.99 lakh. The facelift model will demand a small premium. Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and S Presso in India.
