Prices for mid-level Tata Sierra trims received

The Tata Sierra was launched at a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh in India last month. At the time of launch, only the price of the entry-level trim was revealed. The SUV comes in 7 trim levels – Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished, and Accomplished+. The automaker has now announced the prices of the mid-level trims. The top-spec Accomplished and Accomplished+ trims are still awaiting their price reveal.

Tata Sierra: Here’s how much the mid-level variants will cost you

Here are all the prices announced by Tata Motors so far.

The Sierra SUV draws inspiration from its 90s namesake. It stands at dimensions of 4,340mm x 1,841mm x 1,715mm and has a 2,730mm wheelbase. The B-pillar silhouette and rear glass section harken back to the iconic ‘91 Sierra. While the rear glass on the new model does not wrap around the corners, Tata has managed to recreate that effect through clever use of black shades. The flush door handles and panoramic sunroof give the SUV a modern look. Up front, the new Sierra rocks what Tata calls ‘Light Saber LED DRLs’. The LED headlamps are arranged vertically. The grille has a premium finish.

Inside, the Tata Sierra flaunts a triple-screen setup on its dashboard. This setup comprises a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, and another 12.3-inch display for the passenger. There is support for wireless headphones, wireless Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Other features include a 12-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone air conditioning, ventilated front seats, a 6-way powered driver’s seat with memory, thigh support extender, ambient lighting, a head-up display, an air purifier with AQI display, an illuminated cooled glovebox, wireless charging, and more.

Tata Sierra comes in 3 engine options. Tata’s new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TGDI ‘Hyperion’ petrol engine makes its debut on the SUV. It is available only with the top three trims. This engine generates a maximum power output of 158hp and 255Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated ‘Revotron’ petrol engine is available with all trims except the top-spec Accomplished+. It produces a maximum power output of 105hp and 145Nm of torque. The engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Lastly, the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, ‘Kryojet’ diesel engine generates a maximum power output of 116hp. With a 6-speed manual transmission, it produces 260Nm torque. This output increases to 280Nm when the engine is linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This engine is available on all 7 trims.

Final Thoughts

The booking window for the Sierra will open on December 16. Tata will announce the prices for the top 2 variants before the booking window opens. The delivery rollout is scheduled to commence on January 15. The Sierra rivals the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, MG Hector in India.
