Hyundai announces price cuts for its passenger vehicles after GST revision

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced that it will pass the benefits of the new GST structure to its customers. Under the new GST policy, small cars will be taxed at 18% instead of 28%. Larger vehicles will now be taxed at 40% instead of falling in the 45-50% bracket. Hyundai’s ICE offerings like Nios, Aura, i20, Venue, Creta, and more will become more affordable. The revised pricing will come into effect on September 22, 2025.

The only ICE offering missing from this list is the Grand i10 Nios. The automaker is yet to announce whether the price of its 2 EV offerings in India, Creta Electric and Ioniq 5, will be reduced as well. The Tucson SUV has benefited the most from the new GST structure, becoming more affordable by up to Rs 2.40 lakh.

The automaker is currently gearing up to launch the next-gen Venue. The SUV is in its road-testing phase and has been spotted on multiple occasions. It is expected to launch in India on October 24. Following the GST 2.0 policy, it won’t cost a significant premium over the current-gen model.

Final Thoughts

Alongside Hyundai, MG Motor, Nissan Motor, Skoda Auto, Toyota Kirloskar, Mahindra Auto, and other automakers have also announced fresh price cuts for their most popular offerings. Apart from price cuts due to GST revision, automakers will also offer festive discounts by the end of the month.
