Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella EV: What’s on offer?

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella EV is 4,285mm long, 1,800mm wide, 1,640mm tall, and has a 2,700mm wheelbase. It distinguishes itself from its Maruti counterpart with a unique front fascia. The electric SUV follows Toyota’s ‘hammerhead’ design language, flaunting a glossy closed-off grille, triangular LED headlamps, and pixel-like LED DRLs. The dual-tone bumper is flanked by air vents on either side. Along the sides, the Ebella looks identical to the e Vitara, with the 18-inch alloy wheel design being the only distinguishing factor. Nothing separates the two EVs at the back either, apart from the badging.

The similarities continue inside the EV as well, as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella EV shares its interior layout and design with the e Vitara. The electric SUV gets a brown-and-black colour theme, just like its Maruti counterpart. The dashboard rocks a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 10.1-inch digital driver’s display. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with 12 colour options, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a JBL sound system, keyless entry, push-start, drive mode switch, automatic climate control, an in-cabin air purifier, and more.

Safety features of the Ebella EV include 7 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS, EBD, ESP, a 360° camera, parking sensors, ISOFIX, over-speed and stagger warnings, an electric rear defogger, and more. The Level 2 ADAS suite comprises functions like Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, and more.

There are 2 battery packs on offer – 49kWh and 61kWh. The former is available with the entry-level E1 trim. It is powered by a front-mounted motor that generates a maximum power output of 144hp and 193Nm of torque. The E2 and E3 trips are equipped with the larger 61kWh battery pack and are also powered by a front-mounted electric motor. However, these trims pump out an improved output of 171hp, while maintaining the torque at 193Nm. The two battery packs offer a driving range of 440km and 543km, respectively.
