Toyota Innova HyCross: Paving the way for MPVs

The primary reason behind Toyota Innova HyCross’ success in India is its petrol-hybrid powertrain. This makes the MPV more economical than the Crysta, something that is very advantageous in the Indian market. Since its launch, the Innova HyCross has been in high demand. At one point, the MPV demanded a waiting period of 1 year. Right now, buyers have to wait up to 8 months for the top-spec variants of the HyCross. Since its launch, Toyota has added new variants to the HyCross range to bring down the waiting period for buyers.

Powering the Toyota Innova HyCross is a 2.0-litre petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 174hp and 205Nm of torque. In a strong hybrid configuration, it puts out 184hp. This engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. The MPV offers a fuel economy of 16.13kmpl. Only the top-spec variants of the MPV are available with a strong-hybrid configuration.

Toyota Innova HyCross features a multi-layered dashboard setup with a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system which comes with smartphone mirroring and connected car tech. Buyers can choose between a dual-tone interior theme or an all-black theme. The MPV is available in 7 and 8-person seating options. The ADAS package onboard the MPV consists of features like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), and Road Sign Assist (RSB). Other features of the MPV include wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, climate control, cruise control, individual digital screens for rear passengers, and much more.

Commenting on the new milestone, Mr Sabari Manohar – Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “We are thrilled to share that the Innova HyCross has achieved milestone of 1,00,000 units. Heartfelt thanks to our customers for their trust and support as we continue to drive unparalleled mobility experiences.

The hybrid technology option in the Innova HyCross continues to impress customers with its exceptional performance and remarkable mileage. Beyond efficiency, the HyCross strikes an ideal balance of space and luxury, making it a practical choice tailored to a family’s diverse needs. Its superior handling, unparalleled comfort, and top-notch safety features further amplify its appeal. Combined with Toyota’s trusted service standards, the Innova HyCross delivers a holistic ownership experience that resonates deeply with its growing base of satisfied customers.

We remain confident that the Innova HyCross will continue to captivate hearts and set new benchmarks in mobility, delivering unmatched performance and innovation for years to come.”
