Tata Aeris leaked ahead of launch

Tata Aeris is set to make its debut in India tomorrow. The automaker has been dropping teasers for the sedan leading up to its launch, giving glimpses of its front fascia and interior layout. However, new leaks of the Aeris have surfaced online ahead of its launch, revealing its exterior design, dashboard setup, and centre console. The variant in the visuals is presumably a CNG one.

Tata Aeris: What do the leaked visuals suggest?

The leaked visuals of the Tata Aeris are consistent with the test mules that have been spotted over the last few months. The front fascia of the sedan is dominated by a black trim covering the grille. This grille is flanked on either side by LED headlamps, which look similar to the ones on the Tiago hatchback. The front bumper has C-shaped corners. The redesigned air intake units are aligned along the centre.

The profile of the Aeris reveals a similar roofline to the Tigor sedan. The front doors are studded with ‘AERIS’ lettering. The pull-type door handles are mounted in their conventional positions. The alloy wheels have a two-tone design. At the back, the roof-mounted spoiler is integrated with a stop light. The boot lid of the leaked unit had ‘iCNG’ branding. The rear bumper has C-shaped corners, just like its front counterpart. The tail lamps are connected by a light band, with the Tata logo in the middle. The ‘AERIS’ lettering can be found on the tailgate.

The leaked visuals reveal a dual-tone cabin theme for the Tata Aeris. The dashboard houses free-standing displays for the touchscreen infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The AC vents are positioned just below the central display. The centre console has two phone trays (presumably with wireless charging on higher variants) and cupholders. We were also able to spot front and rear armrests, steering-mounted controls, and manually dimmable IRVM. Safety features like 6 airbags, ISOFIX anchorages, and ABS with EBD are also expected to make the cut.

The Aeris will share its powertrain with the Tata Tigor. This means it will get the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine under its hood. On the Tigor, this unit generates a maximum power output of 86hp and 113Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. In a CNG guise, this engine puts out 76hp and 97Nm.

Final Thoughts

As mentioned earlier, the Aeris will be officially revealed on September 25, 2026. We expect its prices to start at Rs 6 lakh. In comparison, the Tigor is priced between Rs 5.70 lakh and Rs 9.10 lakh. The Aeris will rival the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze.
