MG Hector Tomahawk EV launched in India at a starting price of Rs 19.49 lakh

MG Motor India has added another electric SUV to its EV range. Prices for the new MG Hector Tomahawk EV start at Rs 19.49 lakh and go up to Rs 22.99 lakh. Its BaaS range starts at Rs 13.99 lakh. The electric SUV comes in 3 trim levels – Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. There are 5- and 7-seat options on offer. All variants are equipped with a 69.2kWh battery pack.

Here is the price for the BaaS and standard variants of the MG Hector Tomahawk EV.

The Hector Tomahawk EV is underpinned by MG Motor’s ADAPT architecture. It stands at dimensions of 4,745mm x 1,850mm x 1,770mm, and has a 2,810mm wheelbase. It clears the ground at 230mm. The front fascia features Beacon lighting, a sculpted bumper, and an illuminated MG logo. Along the sides, the SUV rests on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Its roof rails and wheel arches are blacked out. At the back, it gets wraparound tail lamps and a muscular bumper. There are 6 paint shades on offer – Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Celadon Blue, Pearl White, Shadow Gold, and Khaki Green. The latter two are available in a dual-tone colour theme.

Inside, the EV gets a clean layout for the dashboard and cabin with a brown-and-black colour theme. The dashboard houses a free-standing 15.6-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. There is wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity on board. Other features include gesture controls, ventilated front seats, roof-mounted AC vents for rear seats, a 10-speaker Infinity audio system, 256-colour ambient lighting, LED reading lamps, wireless charging, V2V and V2L charging, and more. There are 5 cabin modes on offer – Nap, Camp, Energise, Pro Pet, Valet, and Quiet.

The 69.2kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 517km (MIDC) on a full charge. It supports 90W DC fast charging, which allows it to go from 30-80% in 35 minutes. A 7.4kW AC charger takes 12.5 hours to replenish the battery from 10-100%. 

The front-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor generates a maximum power output of 204hp and 310Nm of torque. It is mated to an automated gearbox. The electric SUV can go from 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds.

Final Thoughts

MG Motor has started accepting bookings for the Hector Tomahawk EV. It will start rolling out deliveries in September. The electric SUV rivals the Kia Carens Clavis EV, Mahindra XEV 9S, and Tata Harrier EV.
