MG Hector completes 7 years in India, gets benefits worth up to Rs 60,000

MG Hector has completed 7 years in India. The SUV was introduced in the country back in 2019. Its current facelifted version was launched in December 2025 at a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh. The Hector was MG Motor’s first offering in India. It amassed 80,000 sales within the first 3 years, hitting the 1 lakh production landmark in December 2022. To celebrate its 7-year anniversary, the SUV is being offered with discounts worth up to Rs 60,000.

MG Hector: Anniversary discounts explained

MG Motor is offering discounts worth up to Rs 60,000 on all bookings made for the Hector SUV in August 2026. These discounts come in the form of exchange benefits, loyalty bonuses, corporate offers, and anniversary discounts. The automaker is also offering 100% funding support on accessories and 100% on-road price funding with tenures of up to 4 years.

The Hector SUV is available in 4 trim levels – Style, Select Pro, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro. It can seat 5 people. The 6- and 7-seat layouts are reserved for the Hector Plus model. The SUV is packed with premium features. Its dashboard flaunts a massive 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system mounted in portrait orientation. A 7-inch digital instrument cluster in the driver’s cockpit goes along with this display. There’s wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity on board.

The infotainment system supports multi-touch controls. The climate setting can be changed using two-finger gestures. The volume can be altered with a three-finger sliding gesture. Other premium features of the SUV include an air filter, push-button start/stop, a powered driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, and more.

On the safety front, the SUV gets 6 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree HD camera system, ESP, traction control, hill hold control, ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic parking brake, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ISOFIX anchorages, seatbelt reminder for all passengers, and more features. Its Level 2 ADAS package comprises functions like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), and more. This package is only available on the top-spec Savvy Pro trim.

The MG Hector is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The E20-compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 142hp and 250Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. The 2.0-litre diesel engine pumps out 168hp and 350Nm. This engine can only be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the Hector SUV start at Rs 11.99 lakh and go up to Rs 19.99 lakh. It comes in 5 paint shades – Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, Pearl White, Starry Black, and Aurora Silver. Its biggest rivals in India are Mahindra XUV 7XOTata SafariMahindra Scorpio NTata Sierra, and Hyundai Alcazar.
