Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq: Here’s what the teaser reveals

The teaser video for the BE 6 Sporteq reveals a triple-screen dashboard setup, just as we previously reported. While the automaker has not revealed the exact specifications of this panoramic system, we believe it is the same setup employed by the XEV 9e. This means it will comprise three 12.3-inch panels – one each for the infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and passenger entertainment display. The current BE 6 model uses a dual-screen layout comprising two 12.3-inch displays. This arrangement will continue on the lower trims of the electric SUV.

The teaser also confirms a new upholstery option for the BE 6. From the visuals released by Mahindra, it appears to be a tan shade. The halo loop around the driver’s cockpit has also been dropped on the Sporteq model. This makes more room in the centre console for a second cup holder. It will also make the Type-C charging port and wireless charging pad more accessible to the passenger.

No changes are expected along the exterior of the electric SUV. The teaser gives a glimpse of its front fascia, profile, and rear section, but does not hint at any changes. The Sporteq variant will also carry forward the safety suite of the standard model. It will pack safety features like 6 airbags, Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), all-wheel disc brakes, front fog lamps, cornering lamps, Brake-by-Wire technology, Intelligent Electronic Brake Booster with 46 value-added features, a rear HD camera, front and rear parking sensors, auto-defogger, TPMS, and more. As a top-spec model, it will come with the Level 2 ADAS suite.

Current Mahindra BE 6

No mechanical changes are expected on the new model either. The BE 6 comes in 2 battery sizes – 59kWh and 79kWh. The former offers a driving range of 556km, while the larger battery pack can go up to 682km on a single charge. Both variants are powered by a single electric motor, but put up different output figures. The 59kWh variants generate a maximum power output of 231hp and 380Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 79kWh variants put out 286hp and 380Nm.
