Out of the 23,523 units sold this month, Sonet contributed 45% followed by Seltos and Carens with 28% and 27% respectively. Kia India sold 10,335 units of the Sonet, 6,959 units of the Seltos, and 6,217 units of the Carens. Compared to its Q2 2024 performance, the automaker registered a 10% growth in sales.

Mr Hardeep Singh Brar, Sr. VP and Head of Sales and Marketing commented, “Our continuous exceptional sales performance is driven by the overwhelming response from customers during the festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi and Onam. This success is a testament to the unparalleled customer experience our team consistently delivers. We have also prioritized expanding our touchpoints, ensuring that our best-in-class mobility solutions are accessible to all our customers across the country. As we move into festival period, our refreshed product line 2 newly introduced Gravity trims will provide much needed impetus for high festival sales”.

Kia India’s bestselling Sonet SUV is available in two engine options – 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine puts out 116hp and 250Nm. The SUV is available with manual and automatic transmission options.

Kia India launched the facelifted version of the Sonet SUV earlier this year. It is priced between Rs 9.21 lakh – Rs 14.50 lakh. It is packed with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, a Bose audio system, a sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and more. The SUV also flaunts a Level 1 ADAS package with features like lane keep assist, high beam assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and more. Other safety features on the SUV include six airbags, TPMS, ESC, and hill-start assist.

Conclusion

Kia India is gearing up to launch the Carnival and EV9 this week. Since both models are CBU imports, they won’t contribute to a significant boost in sales. Bookings for the two cars are already open. The price announcement will take place on October 3. Last month, the automaker added ‘Gravity Edition’ models to the Sonet, Seltos, and Carens.
