Hyundai Creta Electric gets BaaS, prices now start at Rs 10.99 lakh

The Hyundai Creta Electric was launched in January 2025 at a starting price of Rs 17.99 lakh. Hyundai has now added the option of a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model to bring down the initial cost of the EV. The BaaS prices for the Creta EV start at Rs 10.99 lakh. The subscription cost is set at Rs 3.90 per kilometre.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Full BaaS pricing yet to be revealed

Hyundai has revealed that the entry-level Exclusive variant of the all-electric Creta is priced at Rs 10.99 lakh for those availing the BaaS option. Prices for the Executive(O), Executive Tech, Premium, Smart(O), and Excellence trims will be made public in the coming days. The automaker has also added an integrated side step to the electric SUV for easier ingress and egress. Furthermore, all HC variants now come with a 7.4kW AC wall box charger as standard.

The Creta Electric comes in 2 battery pack options – 42kWh and 51.4kWh. They offer a driving range of 420km and 510km, respectively. The single electric motor generates 135hp on the 42kWh variants and 171hp on the 51.4kWh variants. The latter offers a torque of 255Nm and can go from 0-100kmph in 7.9 seconds. The 11kW home AC charger can charge the smaller battery pack from 10% to 100% in 4 hours. The larger unit takes an additional 50 minutes to reach a full charge. A DC fast charger can take it from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes.

In terms of features, the Hyundai Creta Electric packs two 10.25-inch displays for the touchscreen infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. There’s wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity on board. Other features include an 8-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, memory function for the driver’s seat, vegan upholstery, a voice-enabled smart panoramic sunroof, Dual Automatic Temperature Control (DATC), powered passenger seat walk-in device, digital key, auto-dimming IVRM,  rear window sunshades, a rear wireless charger, and more.

On the safety front, the Creta Electric gets 6 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Parking Brakes (EPB) with auto hold, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Electric Stability Control (ESC) with Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Child Seat Anchor (ISOFIX), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and more. There is a Level 2 ADAS package on board with 20 safety features.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the regular lineup of the Hyundai Creta Electric start at Rs 18.02 lakh and go up to Rs 26.42 lakh. It rivals the Tata Sierra EV, Maruti Suzuki e VitaraMahindra BE 6, and VinFast VF6.6 in India.
