Honda 0 Alpha EV spotted in Manali, interior spied

The pan-India testing phase for the Honda 0 Alpha EV was flagged off in March 2026. The electric SUV was recently spotted on a road test in Manali. The spy shots gave a clear look at its interior for the first time. The test mule was fully camouflaged, just like the ones spotted earlier. The concept model of the EV was showcased at the Japan Mobility Show last year.

Honda 0 Alpha EV: What do the spy shots suggest?

The newly surfaced spy shots of the Honda 0 Alpha EV give an unobstructed view of its dashboard. The highlight is the free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, which is significantly larger than the digital instrument cluster right next to it. It appears to be larger than any central display in Honda India’s car portfolio. This display will support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The spy shots also reveal the centre console with controls for seat ventilation, climate control, and other functions. It cannot be made out whether these are physical controls. The steering wheel features a brand new design and mounted controls.

Honda has confirmed a 2,800mm wheelbase for the 0 Alpha SUV. We expect a lot of legroom for the rear seating row. Other features like rear AC vents, a voice-controlled panoramic sunroof, a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, connected car tech, an ADAS package, and more are also expected to make the cut.

As mentioned earlier, the test mule was completely draped in camouflage. The cutouts along the front fascia revealed elaborate headlamp modules comprising rectangular LED lighting elements. The two modules are separated by a shut-off grille. The bumper right below this setup has a muscular look. The profile of the SUV is quite boxy. At the back, the LED tail lamps are stacked vertically on either side of the window. The tailgate has a clean look. The bumper is chunky like its front counterpart. The SUV follows Honda’s ‘Thin, Light, and Wise’ design language.

The powertrain and battery specs of the Honda 0 Alpha EV still remain a mystery. Reports suggest that Honda will use a CATL battery pack on the SUV, sourcing it from Indonesia. There will be multiple battery sizes on offer. We wouldn’t be surprised if Honda makes RWD and AWD variants available for the EV to make it more appealing in the sub-Rs 20 lakh price bracket.

Final Thoughts

The Honda 0 Alpha EV will be manufactured in India and exported to foreign markets. It is expected to launch this year. It needs to be mentioned that the mules undergoing testing belong to the prototype model. The production-spec model appears to be a few months away. Once launched, it will compete in the midsize electric SUV segment, rivalling the likes of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, and Tata Sierra EV in India.
