Entry-level Feel trim discontinued for Citroen C5 Aircross

Citroen India has discontinued the entry-level feel variant of the C5 Aircross SUV. The Citroen C5 Aircross is the automaker’s flagship SUV in India. It was previously available in 2 variants. Now, the SUV can be had in a single-spec Shine variant. The entry-level Feel trim was priced at Rs 36.91 lakh. The top-spec Shine trim fetches Rs 39.99 lakh. Citroen imports the C5 Aircross to India via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route.

Citroen C5 Aircross: Now available in a single variant

The facelifted version of the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV was launched in India back in September 2022. The entry-level Feel trim of the SUV featured a smaller infotainment system compared to the 10-inch unit on the Shine trim. It also lacked features like the panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered tailgate, hill-descent control, and traction control. Citroen offered the entry-level trim of the SUV with different upholstery and console finish materials.

Meanwhile, the Shine trim of Citroen C5 Aircross is equipped with all the missing features mentioned above and some other upgrades across the board. It has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with 3 customisable screens – Personal, Dials, and Minimum. Its centre console has a black leather-effect fabric finish which is further enhanced by chrome design lines.

Powering the Citroen C5 Aircross is a 2.0-litre diesel. This engine produces a maximum power output of 177hp and 400Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The mileage offered is 17.5kmpl. The 1.5-litre petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrains are not available on the Indian model of C5 Aircross.

In September, Citroen updated the C3 Aircross with new features and dropped the C3 monicker from the SUV’s name. Now going by Citroen Aircross, the midsize SUV features LED headlamps, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and more. These features were previously missing from the SUV. Citroen also added the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine from the C3 hatchback to the Aircross’ powertrain. This engine puts out 82hp and 115Nm. The prices for the SUV now start at Rs 8.49 lakh.

Conclusion

Citroen C5 Aircross is available in four colour options: Pearl White, Perla Nera Black, Cumulus Grey, and Eclipse Blue. The automaker recently unveiled a concept for the next-gen C5 Aircross. It is expected to get a global launch next year. However, it remains to be seen when Citroen will launch it in India. As of now, the current-gen Citroen C5 Aircross rivals the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass, Skoda Kodiaq, and Volkswagen Tiguan in India.
