Xiaomi has taken the wraps off a new track-focused ‘Ultra’ variant for its SU7 electric sedan. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will be the first car to be powered by Xiaomi’s new HyperEngine V8s. With the Ultra variant of the SU7, Xiaomi aims to set a new record for the fastest four-door electric sedan at Nürburgring in October 2024. Currently, this record is held by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with a lap time of 7:07.55.

Xiaomi’s new V8s engine generates a maximum power output of 578hp and 635Nm of torque. The new Ultra variant of the Xiaomi SU7 EV gets two V8s engines and a V6s engine. The electric sedan produces a combined power output of 1,548hp. This is 440hp more than the current record holder, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra can attain a maximum speed of 350kmph. It can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 1.97 seconds, 0-200kmph in 5.97 seconds, and 0-300kmph in 15.07 seconds. It weighs 1,900kg. The Ultra variant is visibly different from the standard SU7 lineup. It has a large carbon fibre rear wing that generates a downforce of up to 2,145kg.
Up front, the electric sedan gets two huge air vents and enlarged side skirts. The SU7 Ultra also had a more aerodynamic design. It stands at dimensions of 5,260mm x 2,064mm x 1,406mm and has a wheelbase of 3,000mm. Its wheelbase is the same size as the regular SU7 but it is longer and wider than the market version sedan.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT holds the record for the faster lap in Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s category. The overall record is held by Volkswagen ID.R with a lap time of 6:05.336 minutes. Xiaomi’s electric sedan will aim to beat this record as well. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is strictly a prototype model and will likely never be road-certified.
