Waiting period for Mahindra Scorpio N and Classic reduced to 2 months

Mahindra Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic have been in huge demand since their launch in 2022. Last year, the waiting period for the two SUVs rose up to 1 year. From April 2024, the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic have been averaging 13,500 monthly sales. The good news is that the waiting period for the two SUVs has now been reduced to 2 months. The Mahindra Scorpio N is available in two powertrain options – a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2L diesel engine. The petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 167hp while the diesel engine puts out 152hp. The SUV features intelligent 4Xplore terrain management technology, offering 4 modes – Tarmac, Snow, Mud and Desert, with the touch of a button.

The Mahindra Scorpio N is packed with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, Sony 3D immersive audio, 12-speakers with dual channel sub-woofer, leather-wrapped steering and gear lever, a rear parking camera, a push start button, passive keyless entry, built-in Alexa, and more. Safety features include 6 airbags, driver drowsiness detection, an advanced seat restraint system, a collapsible steering system, an anti-lock braking system, a Penta-link rear suspension, and more.

Powering the Scorpio Classic is an updated all-aluminium lightweight GEN-2 mHawk engine that produces a maximum power of 130hp and 300Nm torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The GEN-2 mHawk engine is 55 kilos lighter and 14% more fuel efficient than its predecessor.

Conclusion

Prices for Mahindra Scorpio N in India start at Rs 13.85 lakh and go up to Rs 24.54 lakh. It rivals Tata Safari, MG Hector, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos. Meanwhile, the Scorpio Classic range starts at Rs 13.62 lakh and goes up to Rs 17.42 lakh.
