It stands at dimensions of 4,735mm x 1,859mm x 1,682mm and has a 2,789mm wheelbase. The SUV distinguishes itself from the Tiguan R-Line with its IQ.LIGHT LED Matrix headlamps and tail lamps. These lighting elements are connected by light bars. There are illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and back. The profile of the Tayron reveals strong character lines and 19-inch ‘Coventry’ diamond-turned alloy wheels. Being an R-Line model, it gets exclusive badging.
Inside, the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line gets lush interiors, with the front seats featuring premium Varena Leather upholstery. These seats support ergoActive Plus technology along with 10-point pressure massage and active ventilation functions. The three seating rows in the SUV can accommodate 7 people. The third row can be folded to increase the boot space capacity to 850 litres.
The dashboard is mounted with a 15-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. There’s support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include a wide panoramic sunroof (covering all three rows), a 3-zone climate control system, an 11-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, 30-colour ambient lighting, wireless charging, a powered tailgate, and more. Mechanically, the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line is identical to its Tiguan counterpart. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 204hp and 320Nm of torque. It is linked to a 7-speed DCT. The AWD configuration channels the power produced by the engine to all four wheels. The SUV can go from 0-100km/h in 7.3 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 224km/h.
