The Volkswagen Taigun SUV is long overdue for a refresh. The SUV was launched in India back in September 2021. Volkswagen finally seems to have something in the pipeline, as the facelifted version of the Taigun was spotted testing recently. Curiously, this comes after its Skoda sibling, Kushaq, was spotted on a road test. The two SUVs will launch in late 2025.

The Taigun test mule that was spotted recently was partially camouflaged. Its front and rear fascias were completely draped in a body cover. The door panels and partial profile of the SUV were visible. The most notable changes to the facelift model will include new designs for the headlamps, tail lamps, and DRLs. The front and rear bumpers could also get a fresh new look. The profile of the SUV will remain largely unchanged, bar a new design for the alloy wheels.
The spy shots do not reveal the interior look of the Volkswagen Taigun facelift. It is expected to get a new dashboard design and a different colour theme for the cabin. The biggest feature addition on the SUV will be an ADAS package. Buyers can also expect a 360-degree camera on board. The current model packs a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, a 6-speaker sound system, ventilated front seats, a multi-function steering wheel, and an electric sunroof. The My Volkswagen Connect app supports connected features such as driving behaviour, live tracking, and more.
No mechanical changes are expected on the Volkswagen Taigun facelift. The SUV will continue to be offered in 2 engine options: 1.0L turbo-petrol and 1.5L turbo-petrol. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 178Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 150hp and 250Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG transmission.
