The facelifted version of the Volkswagen Taigun has been spotted testing in Maharashtra. The SUV was previously spotted on a road test back in July. The Taigun was launched in India in September 2021. This will be the first major facelift for the midsize SUV. The updated model is expected to launch in 2026. The most recent test mule of the Taigun SUV was partially camouflaged. Its front and rear fascias were draped under cover. However, we could make out some changes. The LED headlamps are sleeker than the ones on the current model. They follow the design language of the Tiguan R-Line, Volkswagen’s flagship SUV in India. The grille now has a single piece running across the nose of the SUV.
The spy shots did not reveal the interior of the Volkswagen Taigun facelift. The SUV is expected to get an updated layout for the dashboard along with a new colour theme. Its biggest feature upgrade will be a Level 2 ADAS package. Other features will include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a 6-speaker sound system, ventilated front seats, a multi-function steering wheel, and an electric sunroof. The My Volkswagen Connect app will bring features such as driving behaviour, live tracking, and more.
Things will remain the same under the hood as the Taigun facelift will continue to be offered in 2 engine options: 1.0L turbo-petrol and 1.5L turbo-petrol. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 178Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 150hp and 250Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG transmission.
