Tata Motors launched the Altroz ‘Racer’ lineup today. In addition, the automaker also added two new trims to the regular Altroz’s lineup – XZ LUX and XZ+ LUX. These trims sit under the top-spec XZ+ OS trim, which has been upgraded with new features. Its pricing has also been revised. Meanwhile, the Altroz Racer is available in three trims, with prices starting at Rs 9.49 lakh.

The XZ LUX trim of the Tata Altroz gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This infotainment system is larger than the rest of the lineup. It is also present in the Altroz Racer. Other features include a 360-degree camera and AA and ACP over WiFi. This means wireless connectivity to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The XZ+ LUX gets all these features along with 6 airbags.
The top-spec ZX+ OS trim of the Tata Altroz has been upgraded with an iRA air purifier and connected car tech. Its price has been hiked by Rs 34,000. Other features include automatic climate control, rear AC vents, an electric sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, and more. It no longer gets leatherette seating as Tata Motors has chosen to make that feature exclusive to the Altroz Racer.
Tata Altroz is available in two powertrains – a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. The former puts out 88hp while the latter produces a maximum power output of 90hp. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DCT.

Prices for the Tata Altroz start at Rs 6.65 lakh and go up to Rs 10.80 lakh. The ‘Racer’ version of the hatchback, gets an upgraded 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine which puts out 120hp and 170Nm. This engine has been discontinued on the iTurbo. Tata Altroz rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Hyundai i20.
