The Tata Tiago hatchback is about to receive a much-needed facelift. The automaker has confirmed that its most affordable offering will be updated and launched on May 28. The hatchback has been spotted testing on Indian roads on multiple occasions. So far, all the test mules have been completely camouflaged. The Tiago facelift is expected to get some cosmetic and feature updates, but it will remain unchanged under the hood.

Tata Tiago facelift: What to expect?

Recent spy shots suggest that the Tata Tiago facelift will get projector LED headlamps and LED turn indicators. The bumper will get a few tweaks, and the fog lamp housings will be placed lower than their usual position. These feel like the logical updates after the grille and air vent redesign last year. Not many changes are expected along the sides, but the hatchback may get a new design for its alloy wheels. At the back, the LED tail lamps will be integrated with vertical LED turn indicators. The rear bumper will get reworked, too.

Inside, the Tata Tiago is already well stocked with premium features for its segment. The dashboard houses a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Accompanying this display is an 8-inch TFT digital instrument cluster. We expect the facelifted model to pack features like push-button start, auto-dimming IVRM, a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, front seat armrest, rear adjustable headrests, rear armrest, auto headlights, automatic climate control, and more.

2025 Tata Tiago NRG: What’s on offer?

The Tata Tiago facelift will remain unchanged under the hood. The current model is powered by a 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It generates a maximum power output of 86hp. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an automatic gearbox. The CNG version of the hatchback puts out 73hp and 95Nm.

Tata is also planning an update for the all-electric Tiago. It will go on sale later this year. The upcoming Tiago EV facelift will get significant cosmetic and feature updates. It remains to be seen whether its powertrain will be tweaked to produce better output figures. The current version of the EV is powered by a Permanent Synchronous Motor. It generates a maximum power output of 75hp and 114Nm of torque. There are two battery options on offer. Tata claims a driving range of 315 km for the 24kWh battery pack and 250km for the 19.2kWh unit.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the current Tiago lineup start at Rs 4.60 lakh and go up to Rs 9.11 lakh. We don’t expect the facelifted model to demand a premium over these prices. Upon launch, it will continue to rival the Maruti Suzuki Wagon RCitroen C3, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios in India.
