Tata is planning to launch the Sierra EV by the end of the year. The Tata Sierra EV is currently in the middle of the testing phase. The electric SUV was spotted testing on Indian roads recently. The launch of the Sierra EV will be followed by the introduction of its ICE sibling. The Tata Sierra EV broke cover alongside the Harrier EV at the Auto Expo in 2023.

The Tata Sierra EV test mule that was spotted recently was heavily camouflaged. However, it did reveal certain details about the design and profile of the SUV. The Sierra EV will flaunt a tall and flat front fascia. The LED headlamps will be stacked vertically on either side of the closed-off grille. Along the sides, the electric SUV will get flush-sitting door handles and a bold aero-style design for the alloy wheels. At the back, it will feature wraparound LED tail lamps and a light bar.
None of the spy shots of the Tata Sierra EV that have surfaced so far reveal any significant details about the SUV. However, you can expect it to be decked with premium features. These include a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a fully-digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, an illuminated Tata logo on the touchscreen, cooled storage, dual-zone climate control, and more. There will also be a Level 2 ADAS package onboard.
Tata has not revealed any specs related to the powertrain of the Sierra EV. It could get the 65kWh and 75kWh battery pack options from the Harrier EV. On the Harrier, these battery packs have a C75 driving range of 445km and 505km, respectively. The mechanical numbers of the electric SUV are currently unknown as well.

Tata has not mentioned anything about the Sierra EV’s release schedule. We expect the electric SUV to launch in the festive season. Being a premium offering, its prices could start at Rs 25 lakh. Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the BYD Atto 3, Mahindra XEV 9e, MG ZS EV, Tata Harrier EV, and Hyundai Creta Electric.
