Tata Punch launched at a starting price tag of Rs 5.49 lakhs

Tata punch was introduced by the company last year and recently the booking started at Rs 21,000 either online or to your nearest showroom. The Punch is an exciting offer by the company. The looks are very similar to its elder sibling Tata Harrier. While it is one of a kind subcompact SUV by Tata. The company today revealed its price starting from Rs 5.49 lakhs ex-showroom, India and will go all the way up to Rs 9.09 lakhs ex-showroom, India. The rest of the details are mentioned below.

Design

The exterior of the car is designed using the same IMPACT 2.0 philosophy. The second SUV in Tata’s lineup to be based on its new ALFA architecture. There will be 4 options for the SUV available that the company calls ”persona”. The Pure will be the base model of the car while adventure and accomplished be the middle variant and Creative is the top of the trim. The pure variant is available in only manual transmission while the others are offered in both manual and AMT options.

Dimensions of the car stand at 3,840mm in length, 1,822mm in width, 1,635mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,450mm. Just like many other Tata cars the doors of Punch also open up to 90 degrees. The company offers 7 colour options to its consumers:  Orcus White, Atomic Orange, Daytona Grey, Meteor Bronze, Calypso Red, Tropical Mist and Tornado Blue.

Features

The dash is similar to the company’s other offering, Altroz. This includes a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch display unit showing off current gear position, RPM, fuel level, trip meter and distance to empty. Inspired by Nexon, Tata punch also sports a  flat-bottom steering wheel, square-shaped AC vents and various drive modes along with cruise control, auto headlamp and wipers in top trims.

The car is future-ready with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system or a 4-inch floating screen depending on the variant you choose. The floating screen will be a basic system while the advanced one is a touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The infotainment system will be paired with JBL speakers powered by Harman to give an immense entertainment experience.

Just like all its cars, Tata made this car rock solid and Punch scored 5 stars in GNCAP. To make this possible, the company included features like dual airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors and camera.

Engine

Punch will share the engine with Tiago and Altroz. The unit is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated,3 cylinder engine with Dynapro technology that helps Punch do 0-60 kph in a claimed 6.5 seconds and 0-100 kph in a claimed 16.5 seconds. The engine is capable of producing 85 hp power and 113 Nm torque paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT as an option.
