Tata Motors has unveiled its newest crossover offering in India. Tata Curvv is India’s first SUV Coupé and is available in ICE and all-electric avatars. The all-electric version of the crossover will be the first to launch in India, followed by its ICE sibling. Curvv EV’s launch is scheduled for August 7. This is the first time that Tata has revealed the production-spec version of the crossover. It was first showcased as a concept in April 2022.

Tata Curvv: Everything you need to know
The front fascia of Tata Curvv looks very similar to the current-gen Nexon. There is a sleek LED bar running across the grille of the Curvv, which reminds us of the automaker’s compact SUV. The LED headlamps are housed inside edgy cutouts. The LED DRLs flank the grille on either side and seamlessly merge with the light bar. The Curvv EV’s charging port is located on the nose.
The crossover looks of the Tata Curvv are revealed in its profile. It features a coupe-like sloping roofline, which gives it a unique look. The EV and ICE versions of the crossover sport different designs for the alloy wheels. The Curvv stands at dimensions of 4,308mm x 1,810mm x 1,630mm. It has a wheelbase that spans 2,560mm. The ICE model has a boot space capacity of 422 litres.
Tata Motors has still not revealed the interior of the Curvv. However, it is expected that the crossover will carry forward the Nexon’s dashboard layout and instrumentation. This means it will 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster along with a two-spoke illuminated steering wheel. The colour theme of the upholstery and the dashboard may differentiate the Curvv from Nexon.
The powertrain specs of Tata Curvv and its EV variant have not been made public yet. We believe that the crossover will share its powertrain with the Nexon. The LR variants of the Curvv EV will have a driving range of up to 500 km. Meanwhile, the ICE variant will be powered by the 1.5-litre CRAIL diesel engine which produces a maximum power output of 113hp and 260Nm of torque. Tata may also add the 125hp, 225Nm producing 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine to the lineup.

The original Sierra, Safari, Nexon, Punch and Harrier are testament to this design led market leadership in SUVs.
Taking this legacy forward and to further strengthen our SUV portfolio, we have once again broken the clutter in the effervescent and aspirational mid SUV category by introducing the Tata Curvv – India’s first SUV Coupe – a disruptive design which democratizes the Coupe body style in the premium categories, providing best in segment performance and never before seen practicality.

Conclusion
Prices for the Tata Curvv EV will be revealed upon its launch on August 7. We expect the ICE variant to cost between Rs 11-12 lakh. The EV could fetch up to Rs 16 lakh. Upon launch, the Curvv will primarily rival the Citroen C3X along with other midsize SUVs like Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
